New Orleans Part II

Next, rehearsal dinner, yes!
After the extreme difficulty of finding the hotel I really needed a beer, so I was happy with the open bar , and all of the little hors d'vours! The actual dinner was delicious!! Yum yum yum.
The next day we got off to a late start-because of the free flowing wine at dinner. We spent the day walking around the French Quarter, fun fun fun, beautiful architecture, cool shops, antique stores, art galleries, voodoo museums, super lame magic shows.
After surviving getting ready-shower not working, iron with grease on it ruining white shirt, etc. we went to Hotel Monteleon (I have no idea how to spell that, I'm not even sure I spelled hors d'vours right!) to get some pictures taken and get my corsage-because I am special! I was a reader for the wedding.
Caroline's dress was gorgeous and she looked gorgeous too! All my cousins looked so so pretty!
I am so hungry now, especially thinking about all the food I ate in New Orleans, I'm going to have to go eat.
To be continued...........................

New Orleans

About two weeks ago James and I took a roadtrip to New Orleans. It took us about nine hours to drive down there. I was happy to finally get there, but that was tempered by the shock of seeing all the destruction, miles and miles of empty houses and abandoned stores. I just kept repeating "Oh my god, all these houses are destroyed" over and over again. But my sadness was lightened by lots of palm trees and tropical plants, which make me happy, just the sight of them makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I wrote down the wrong address for our hotel so it took us a long time to find it. We stayed in the French Quarter, and that was in good shape. Our reason for going to New Orleans was to go to my cousin Caroline's wedding, so first things first we ran, yes ran to the wedding rehearsal, we were running late because of the address mix up. Luckily the church was pretty close to our hotel. The wedding was at the St. Louis Cathedral, if you've been to New Orleans you've probably seen the church, it is right on Jackson Square in the French Quarter, anyways the church is beautiful.
During the rehearsal I had to pretend to be the bride, because Caroline wanted to sit back and watch. That was interesting to say the least.
Well, I'm bored with writing so I guess this trip will have to be a two part series, stay tuned!

The bad surprise

I was about to lay down on my bed, when I noticed something moving, It was a snake!! There was a snake on my bed! I almost laid down on it!!
At first I thought my boyfriend did it, so I yelled at him and told him I hated him. Turns out he didn't do it, so I had to apologize. The thing obviously managed to find my warm apartment on its own, I guess I can't blame it, who could resist my beautiful silk aqua colored bedspread?
I didn't like finding a snake in my bed, but I've gotten over it, except for my daily checking of the bed for snakes.
